TACOMA, Wash. — Feeling lucky, Tacoma? A winning Powerball ticket was sold in the city on Wednesday.
The winning lottery ticket was sold from a 76 gas station at 15119 Pacific Ave. S. near the Lake Spanaway Golf Course.
Because the ticket was purchased during the Power Play add-on on drawing night, the purchaser’s prize money doubled from $1 million into a $2 million prize.
The 76 gas station will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling a second-tier winning ticket, according to Washington’s Lottery.
In the last year, approximately 1.7 million people have won a total of $14.5 million from Washington’s Powerball lottery.
Across the U.S., two people recently won one of the largest Powerball prizes in history – a whopping $1.787 billion. The winning tickets were sold in Missouri and in Texas.
For hopefuls dreaming of dollar signs, the odds of matching the five white balls to win the $1 million prize are one in 11.6 million. For the grand prize, your odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are one in 292.2 million.
